2 THOUGHTS ON BREAKING – Nigeria Writes On Whistleblower Allegations Against AfDB President, Akinwumi Adesina

  1. The number 6 didn’t seem to align with the statement issued earlier by chair of Board of Governors. The minister alluded here that the Board concurred with the resolution of Ethics Committee, while the Board’s chair sounded more or less like it’s an on going matter, which she’s ‘on top’ of. Can’t reconcile both.

Again, the tone of our government’s letter sounded more as though we are ‘pleading’, didn’t sound very assertive to me, and we are the largest shareholder? My understanding of voting power in shareholders engagement is that once the man with largest shareholding raises a hand, it’s no longer ‘one man, one vote’ thing, but rather the size of his holding is what you are counting.

This is high-octane politics in play here, a sophisticated power play, and sounding like ‘I am innocent’ or ‘he has been doing well’ may not win you much points; you have to be two steps ahead of your adversaries to be able to undercut them.

    Game on…

  2. Timely intervention, we must start defending our strategic national interests aggressively otherwise others will use stealth subterfuge to steal from our table.

This our government finest hour, game on!
