Jason Derulo grew Rocket Carwash into a $2 billion business.

When it comes to investing, Jason Derulo is rarely in control. The singer of "Want to Want Me" acknowledged that he has made many poor financial decisions, but he has also been fortunate in a few of them.

“My best investment was Rocket Carwash,” at the 2026 American Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 25, Jason specifically addressed news journalists. “That is something that I can hang my hat on that went very well.”

He clarified that the car wash service, which operates on a membership-based subscription basis, is currently worth $2 billion. Despite Rocket Carwash's achievement, Jason is well aware of what would occur if "it went all wrong."

“I got a lot of worst investments, a lot of those,” the 36-year-old continued. “I think it's important for people to know that it'll probably go wrong way more times than it’s gonna go well—but you only need one to go well.”

“And if you get more than one,” he thought, “fantastic. But you only need really one. Gotta get lucky one time.”

The singer of "In My Head," who has also made investments in hotspot restaurant Catch LA, fitness center Rumble Boxing, and the Omaha Supernovas major league volleyball team, has discovered that any money he makes from his business endeavors will never "even come close to the happiness" that he receives as an entertainer, despite his wealth.

“Every single time I'm about to go perform—and every single time after I perform—I say, ‘Thank you, God, for me to be able to do the thing that I love to do most,’” he revealed. “I say, ‘Thank you, God, that I'm able to make the music that I'm making. for people to actually listen to it.’”

“That is what passion is,” Jason remarked. “That is what happiness is. It's not about any dollar or any amount of money.”
