MeeGo is a Linux-based, open source operating system for small form factor devices. It was created with a unique user experience, designed from the beginning to look great on tablets, handheld devices, in-vehicle infotainment systems, smart TVs, netbooks, and more. MeeGo has a vibrant and active community of developers, enthusiasts, and users. MeeGo is a Linux Foundation project that was established in February 2010. Like with other open source projects, anyone can contribute to the MeeGo project and become a part of the MeeGo community.
Intel began this push via a mobile Linux variant called Moblin. Then it got into a deal with Nokia to develop smartphones for Nokia. Quickly, they merged their separate mobile Linux environments and renamed it MeeGo.
Good enough, Nokia has gone for Windows Mobile leaving Intel with this OS. MeeGo is cool because its interface is just as the Linux it comes from. They have made it such that popular languages can work on. Python is possible, but no to Android.
The big question is this: how can MeeGO start buzzing in Nigeria? Intel has to start organizing events for developers. They have to host events. Google does this very well and they have to entice us.
