Nigeria’s Fintech and Portfolio Company, Pass, Raises More Funding

I wrote them a cheque even before they even incorporated the company. That is really my style: whatever will be will be. Pass led by Samuel Eze is an amazing fintech company on a mission. Today, they have brought more in investors  into the party, and I have updated my Excel. Possibly, soon, more calls for a chieftaincy title will come in the village! They came last time but I reminded them that a Scripture Union kid wears a different cap. Pass simplifies checkout and integrates its technology into websites. If you are Pass-enabled, your sales will improve because with Pass, your users will not need to be adding addresses, names, debit and credit cards. And they also have a consumer facing angle where the APIs are integrated into platforms. Amazing companies like Gokada work with Pass.

We welcome everyone; connect with Samuel. He is an amazing young man with Rogers and others. Now, check out Pass.

A Nigerian startup transforming the digital commerce experience, announced raising its pre-seed round today. This round of investment included angel investors from across US, Dubai and Nigeria.

Pass is a technology company that is improving the online shopping experience by making the process of checking out easy and seamless for online shoppers through its one-click checkout platform.

Pass was founded by Eze Samuel, a second time founder; with the goal of making online shopping easy, seamless, and fast for buyers of goods online, by reducing the checkout experience to a single click.

“We are very excited about this round of investment as it will help us unlock the possibilities of the web and also enable us to provide the very best solutions for our customers. It’s great to now have the backing of our investors to achieve our vision of changing what it means to shop online,” said Co-founder and CEO of Pass, Eze Samuel.

The Platform:

Pass is free and would work with most e-commerce platforms including Woocommerce, Magento, Squarespace, and Shopify. It also works with social commerce platforms including Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram. It’s API is made for online merchants to embed on their online store enabling their customers to checkout their orders in one click.

When a shopper clicks the “Checkout with pass” button, two things happen, their order is processed for checkout, and a delivery agent is notified to pick the order up from the merchant and deliver to the shopper.

Pass has partnered with Gokada, one of the largest last-mile delivery services in Lagos, amongst others across major cities in Nigeria to ensure a seamless process from checkout to last-mile doorstep delivery of orders.

The first time a buyer uses the Pass checkout platform, they’re prompted to enter their name, email, and payment card details and shipping address and charged a N50 one-off card tokenization fee, after which they won’t have to fill out a checkout form again.
