President Jonathan – We Need Startup Nigeria Partnership. It Will Create Jobs And Move The Nation Forward

Mr. President, Congratulations. Now, it is time to get back to fulfilling your campaign promises.

One area we want you to focus is entrepreneurship.  We will call it Startup Nigeria Partnership. It will be a system where companies in our nation will come together and support new ventures with great ideas. As we drive that process, more jobs will be created and opportunities will abound.

Let us structure it like the U.S. Startup America Partnership with the aim to increase “the number of new, high-growth firms that are creating economic growth, innovation, and quality jobs; celebrate and honor entrepreneurship as a core American value and source of competitive advantage; and inspire and empower an ever-greater diversity of communities and individuals to build great American companies.”

If you launch this initiative, many companies in Nigeria will come onboard and together they will pool resources to ensure the partnership is well funded. These pooled resources will then be accessible to a lot more startups in the nation that can take advantage of the opportunity to grow and provide opportunities. Even Rampup and Speedup and Upup companies can benefit from this partnership.

We will help your office to get some funding if you can start this initiative. We believe that we will help you to raise $10 million USD within a week of inauguration. From MTN to Glo, Etisalat to Airtel, we are very confident that Nigeria has an opportunity in our raw talents. Where some of the companies cannot donate cash, they can provide equipment. For instance, Cisco can network the facility through discounted printers and connectivity tools.  The same applies to Starcomms that may decide to provide free minutes so that the entrepreneurs can communicate.

Banks will be part of this process. Our non-profit organizations will join forces.  It will be opened to Venture Capitals, Angel Investors, etc. Let anyone that has anything donate to the future of our youth and businesses.

Nigeria’s path to greatness will come through entrepreneurship. Now is the time to sow that seed.
