It recently won three major long-term contracts to provide logistics to one of Africa’s largest conglomerates and leading category-king ecommerce firms in Nigeria. The trucking industry relies on safe drivers to complete deliveries, and they’re typically thought of as the foundation of the system, but they’re not the only employees responsible for its success. Truck Supervisors and Truck Logistic Managers play an essential role as well and they’re in high demand.

1. Truck Supervisor
2. Truck Logistic Manager

Job Role: Truck Supervisor

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Experience: 3 years
A truck supervisor job is to schedule drivers to pick up and deliver loads to customers or vendors, but that just scratches the surface.

Truck Supervisor Duties & Responsibilities
• Keep records, monitoring drivers’ daily logs for errors or violations and monitoring their working hours and equipment availability.
• Keep tabs on the weather at all drivers’ locations to be able to flag potential issues, typically with the aid of numerous computer programs.
• Serve as a reliable point of contact to balance drivers’ health and safety with customer requirements.
• Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective as a company, combining shipments based on their routes and timeline to minimize how many trucks and drivers are out.
• Determine the best delivery methods with vendors and customers, and get the necessary documents and permits that drivers will need when shipping chemicals or livestock.
Role Requirement
• Educational is an added advantage
• 3years and above experience in a logistic company
• Tech Savvy

Job Role: Truck Logistic Manager

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Experience: 3-5 years
Truck Logistics manager responsibilities include organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods. The goal is to manage the entire order cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.

Truck Logistics Manager Duties & Responsibilities
• The male candidate must have a minimum of 3- 5 years cognate work experience in a reputable Haulage / transport or Logistics company with a good knowledge of Apapa/Tincan Island Ports operations and as well managing trucks fleets more than 25.
• Trucks and drivers’ acquisition, Truck drivers’ managements and Truck business management.
• Capacity to support business growth and organizational development of the Transport Department of the company by his vast experience of the practical operations of the fleet trucks and cargo delivery services
• Deep connection and knowledge of the working of the following agencies and bringing to bear his friendship and connection to the business of the company: * Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) * LASMA * Nigeria Police, other Armed Forces like the Army, Navy or Para-Military.
• Confronting climate change issues by implementing transport strategies and monitoring an organization carbon footprint.
• Take the lead role in planning, costing and allocating routes and vehicles ensuring sufficient flexibility is in place to meet the varying and changing needs of customers
• Ensure that all Trucks are compliant with all legal, regulatory and contractual requirements, and where necessary escalating any identified issues and recommending resolution to the management
• Develop and implement a proactive, planned and structured approach to the maintenance of fleet Trucks, keeping within the designated budget and ensuring all Trucks used are fit for purpose and the customer experience is of a high standard
• Ensuring transport staff deliver the service appropriate to the changing needs of customers in line with relevant guidance and individual risk assessments
• Manage and develop a team of drivers and transport assistants, who may be working remotely, either alone or in small teams, in order to deliver a high-quality service to customers.
• To promote a sense of common purpose through the embodiment of capability of the company’s mission, vision and values
• To ensure high standards of service delivery through the consistent application of recognized standards and established policies, procedures and practices
• To work in a safe and effective manner at all times · To undertake any other duties related to the responsibilities of the post and which may be delegated by the company’s management.
Role Requirement
• HND or B.sc is an added advantage
• 3years to 5years experience in a logistic company
