Guy Fieri Gives Health Update After Completely Tearing His Quad Muscle.

Guy Fieri has everything needed for a perfect recuperation. The Food Network star provided a positive report on his health more than a month after tearing his quadricep muscle while falling down the stairs, which needed emergency surgery to mend.

“I’m doing better,” Guy, 57, said in a January 14 interview with People. “It was definitely a trying holiday, but you know what, you get some real appreciation for having the ability to just get up and walk around and do everything you used to. I’m a big CrossFit and hiking guy, so eight weeks of no hiking has driven me kind of crazy. But I’m looking forward to it, trying to take it easy.”

In fact, since the November accident, the host of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives has been recovering. His leg was brutally torn as "one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold" when he was filming his television series Flavor Town Food Fight. Soon after, he had surgery, and for eight weeks, he had to alternate between using crutches and a wheelchair to get around.

The famous chef is thankful to be nearing the end of his recovery, but he is careful not to get ahead of himself. He and his wife, Lori Fieri, have two children, Ryder, 18, and Hunter, 29.

“My doctors are all like, ‘We know you want to get after it, but let’s not go back to where we were.’ And I’m like, ‘We are never going back to that!’ That was the worst thing I’ve been through in the last 20 years,” he confirmed. “But now, I’ll be up and rolling by the time we hit the Super Bowl for sure.”

Regarding Flavor Town Food Fight, Guy didn't allow his mishap to totally stop work on the forthcoming program.

“We’ve got everybody in town, all the chefs there, 125 people on set and everybody’s ready to go, and I’m in surgery,” in November, he gave an explanation to Fox News Digital. “So, we figured out how to pivot through it and to have some creative filming techniques. But it’s been a run, and now I’m up here at the ranch, where it’s always about hiking and outdoors, and you know, beautiful.”

However, his limitations did more than just compel him to take in his breathtaking surroundings. The host of Guy's Grocery Games actually had to cut back on his cooking time, so he had to rely on his two kids and his nephew Jules to make Thanksgiving dinner.

“I got my three boys, Hunter, Ryder and Jules, and they all know how to cook,” at that point, Guy took note. “And now, it’s gonna be me quarterbacking from the wheelchair and telling them what to do. We cook for about 40 people up here, so it’s going to be an adventure.”
