Joshua Jackson compares his "close" bond with Katie Holmes to the friendship between Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps.

Joshua Jackson recently shared insights into his friendships with his Dawson’s Creek co-stars. He described his bond with Katie Holmes as "very close" and noted that Michelle Williams and Busy Phillips are also extremely tight knit.

While they don’t communicate daily, he emphasized that whenever they reconnect, there’s an unspoken understanding between them. Jackson also revealed how the cast has come together to support James Van Der Beek during his battle with cancer.

He admitted that he wasn’t as involved initially, but the women in the group took the lead in organizing help for James.

It’s heartwarming to see that despite their separate lives, the Dawson’s Creek cast still shares a deep connection. Would you be excited about a reunion? Busy Phillips hinted that they’re trying to make one happen, though scheduling conflicts have made it tricky.

“Katie and I are very close,” Joshua explained on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner’s on Me podcast. “Busy and Michelle are very, very close.”

As for how they stay in touch. “It’s not a daily call,” the 46-year-old added. “Sometimes it’s not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call, but when you’re together—there’s always that, ‘I know, you know.’”

And the Doctor Odyssey star explained how the former castmates are supporting James amid his cancer diagnosis.

“James is going through something really truly terrible right now,” Joshua shared. “And I wish I could take credit for this, but I was kind of the absentee partner here, but the girls all got together and were like, ‘We need to do something to help this guy out.’”

Despite each cast member living separate lives, Joshua emphasized that they are all able to quickly come together when they need it.

“There’s probably no other people in your life that you are that forged to,” he continued. “Cause you had to go through good and bad and ‘F--k you’ and ‘Don’t talk to me,’ and ‘I love you.’”

Joshua’s update on the Dawson’s Creek dynamic comes less than a month after Busy who joined the cast as Audrey in season five teased a possible reunion for the show’s cast.

“We’re really trying to figure something out, but there are a couple of people who have some work things that cannot be moved,” Busy shared last month. “It’s like playing chess, trying to get everybody’s schedules to align. I’m very hopeful that at some point we will.”

It looks like the Dawson’s Creek cast is more open to a casual reunion than a full-fledged reboot. Katie Holmes previously mentioned that they all felt the show was a "time capsule" of a specific era, and revisiting the characters at a later age might not have the same magic.

Fans hoping for a revival might have to settle for nostalgic interviews and behind-the-scenes stories instead. Would you have wanted a reboot, or do you think the show is best left untouched?
