Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (rtd) Goes Home Next Month
One of Nigeria’s finest soldiers - Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (rtd) - goes home next month in the great kingdom of Ovim, Abia state. As a community, we mourn “Commander” for the life he lived. A former governor of Lagos and Imo states, and a defender of democracy, I spoke with him a few days before he died and never felt it was coming: “Ndubuisi, I am home and visited your compound”.
A man admired by everyone. He gave us confidence, challenging everyone with “you must be educated”. In Imo state, he raised the bar of leadership and President Obasanjo (first coming) promoted him to run Lagos state, and he delivered. Lagos today has honoured him and many things are named after him.
Ogboo, our community misses you but as we say final goodnight next month, what you did here will keep Ovim rising.
