If you are the business manager of these Southampton guys, would you ask them to donate 10% of this week’s wage to the fans? Do players have a responsibility, besides showing up, to work on the pitch. I am not saying they did not try but typically when you are a man down + losing by 2, against a better team, you go on defense! That way you protect your goal difference which to a large extent is a “point” on the table. Before the second card, we could assess the team on 6-0, and that is still a bad score.
