My dear state of Abia has a new logo. The meaning of some of the symbols, from the Igbo mythology and worldview, as symbols mean different things across culture, are as follows:
The Eagle (Ugo): A symbol of strength, courage, wisdom, power, and freedom.
The Leopards (Agu): A symbol of confidence, power, intelligence, and swiftness.
The Elephant (Enyi): A symbol of loyalty, size, and majesty; this is the world of “uwa bu ahia” [the world is a marketplace].
Four Parts:
Okpu Agu, signifying Oha Ndi Igbo.
A crane and a gear, signifying technology.
A book, signifying academic and educational advancement.
A palm tree, signifying agricultural prowess.
