AI Is Real And Not A Hype: Invest Efforts To Understand AI Today

As a Scripture Union kid, I quote the Bible a lot, and draw management lessons from the Bible. Nehemiah remains my best example on project management. When the king (Artaxerxes, king of Persia) asked him to name something that would help him to rebuild the Wall, he understood the necessity of critical success factors – and told the king “I want to use the timber from the King’s forests”.

In the old Persian world, a king’s timber went with the best army because no human lived who wasted timber from the king’s forests. Simply, Nehemiah understood that if he got those special timbers, he got everything. In business, do you know your project’s critical success factors?

From Moses to Abraham and to Jesus, I have business cases on them. But today, I want to focus on the message from John the Baptist. The question “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” was sent by John the Baptist through his disciples to Jesus. John was in prison at the time, and his question was seeking confirmation from Jesus about his identity as the Messiah.

In response, Jesus pointed to the miracles he was performing as evidence of his identity: “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.”

Now, is AI a hype or the real deal? Let me drop some numbers:

Cursor in less than 3 years has hit annual revenue of $500M. Midjourney is also recording more than $500M per year.  In less than two years, Lovable is above $100M.  There are more than a dozen companies which are less than 3 years old which have hit $100M ARR.

Certainly, that level of validation cannot be a hype. This is REAL and we’re seeing a new industry, not just a tool. You must be AI-compliant to have a chance in this era. Be AI-ready because this is real.
