Congrats Chelsea, Congrats Mendy for Winning UEFA Champions League

The humans and cows celebrate as Chelsea rises to the top of Europe. I congratulate Mendy. Today, I think he is among the top 3 shot stoppers in the world. His agility, ahead-thinking, and leadership on the bars should inspire other African goalkeepers. The legendary Oliver de Coque will sing “egwu oma si na chukwu” [Good music comes from God]; I think good football comes from packaging. Europe is peerless on making shows out of round leathers. Congratulations Mendy, Chelsea, etc.

Three more years and you may begin to think of joining the greats of Chelsea from Africa: Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou, Mikel John Obi, and Michael Essien. Yet, my all-time best goalkeeper remains Ghana’s Edward Ansah of Iwuanyanwu Nationale. Even when the Nationale lost those days, he would not fail to catch a ball thrown by kids, as they returned from Dan Anyiam Stadium to Ikenegbu Layout Extension in Owerri.

Make sports better, Africa.

“Europe is peerless on making shows out of round leathers” – Fandom empowers it, so Africa has a shot at building her owe. I missed out watching the match, had tight schedule but the energy was on the high as observed around my hostel.
Furthermore, it’s was a great match with valuable insight for the business community to learn from:
    1. Never underestimate the power of words of confidence: Chelsea was indeed expected by many, including long loyal fans, to lose the match, and this was also shown in the negative prediction and odd given by various gambling outlet- like Sporty bet pegging the team at 4.00. Yet, I am certain beyond reasonable doubt that words like many others was pivotal in uplifting the team spirit hence bringing the best out of them.
    2. Understand and utilize Human Resource: The popular axioms says, “Wisdom is better than strength”, however, you could be fooled by that adage if you took it in part; Wisdom is better, does not implies strength is useless. So, bringing it into the operation of the team, Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel both had their individual roles in bring the best out of the team. Frank lead the role by outing old and inefficient player who lacked the agility and stamina to carry out the desired operation- this he learnt as a former player himself, knowing that physical strength is timed, while, Thomas, brought in experience and wisdom from PSG on handling the young folks who are glucose pumped to achieve the game. Wisdom, complimented Strength.
