Egyptian fintech unicorn MNT-Halan is moving ahead with its long-anticipated initial public offering (IPO) on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), marking a major milestone for one of the country’s leading fintech ecosystems.
The company plans to offer 320 million shares, representing approximately 20% of its share capital, through a combination of a private placement to institutional investors and a public offering on the Egyptian stock exchange.
The planned listing covers MNT-Halan’s Egyptian business, which includes Halan and Tasaheel, among other local ventures. The move comes as Egypt’s stock market continues to attract investor interest, while consumer lending and digital financial services expand across the country.

According to report, Egypt’s stock market has entered a period of strong momentum, creating a more favourable environment for companies seeking to raise capital through the Egyptian Exchange (EGX). The market’s recent performance is one of the factors making MNT-Halan’s planned IPO particularly significant.
The EGX30, the exchange’s main benchmark index, has recorded substantial gains in 2026. By mid-August, the index had risen about 33.5% since the beginning of the year, following a 40.6% increase in 2025. The broader market has also attracted stronger investor participation and liquidity.
The exchange’s overall market capitalization surpassed EGP 4.3 trillion in September 2026, while average daily trading volumes approached EGP 10 billion. The increase reflects stronger liquidity and growing confidence among both domestic and international investors.
The market’s expansion has also been supported by a broader pipeline of companies seeking to access public capital.
MNT-Halan described Egypt as the company’s “home and foundation,” highlighting the market’s role in its development from a local financial services business into a broader fintech ecosystem.
The company also expressed appreciation for Egyptian regulators, business partners, employees and customers who have supported its growth, while signaling its intention to contribute further to the development of Egypt’s capital markets.
Founded around the goal of increasing access to financial services, MNT-Halan has built a platform combining digital payments, consumer lending and other financial products.
The fintech operates across Egypt, Türkiye, Pakistan and the UAE, serving more than 8 million customers and having disbursed over USD 16 billion in loans.
Backed by leading global investors, MNT-Halan combines technology with deep local expertise to deliver tailored financial solutions across lending, payments and other financial services. Its scalable model is designed to expand access to financial services across emerging markets.
The IPO represents an important step for MNT-Halan as it seeks to tap public capital markets and potentially strengthen its ability to expand its financial services business.
Notably, its planned EGX listing could therefore become one of the notable fintech listings in Egypt, providing public-market investors with direct exposure to the country’s growing digital finance and consumer-credit sectors.
Outlook
For the Egyptian Exchange, MNT-Halan’s debut would add a prominent homegrown fintech to the listed market and could reinforce efforts to attract technology-driven companies to the bourse.
A successful offering could also encourage other fast-growing private companies to consider public listings as an alternative source of funding.
Overall, MNT-Halan’s IPO could become a significant test of investor appetite for Egypt’s fintech sector. A strong market debut would not only strengthen the company’s growth prospects but could also signal increasing confidence in Egypt’s digital finance industry and its capital markets.
