Ad-free search engine Neeva is shutting down on June 2, with plans to "pivot" to AI, reports The Verge. Co-founded by former Google executive Sridhar Ramaswamy and Vivek Raghunathan in 2019, the company’s original goal was to give people personalization and privacy when they searched, along with a paid tier to access more features. In a blog post announcing the closure, the co-founders said they had trouble getting new users and that there’s “no longer a path towards creating a sustainable business in consumer search.”
The Information reported that the startup, valued at $250 million two years ago, was close to being acquired by cloud database provider Snowflake.
