Monica claims that a few days prior to her passing, Amber became ill and was brought to the hospital. But in the end, medical professionals were unable to sustain her heartbeat. No other information about her condition was provided by her mother.
But Amber said that she had just had a stroke a month before to her passing.
“I just had that mini stroke and my bday,” in a Facebook post on August 5, she stated, “what better time th[an] the present.”
Due to Amber's serious health problems over the past year, her sister Erin Hyndman started a GoFundMe page in May 2025 to assist with medical costs.
“I’m reaching out today with an update and a heavy heart to ask for your help,” at that point in time, she remarked. “Many of you know Amber is one of the kindest and most big-hearted people you could ever meet. Right now, she needs all of that strength for the fight of her life.”
Erin wrote that Amber's condition "became critical" when her sister was admitted to the hospital due to "severe pneumonia and a bacterial infection in her blood."
Erin stated a few days after starting the fundraising that Amber had left the intensive care unit and had begun physical therapy to "regain strength in her legs to be able to walk again."
In 2019, Amber made her debut on Love After Lockup, where she met her lover Vincent Gonzalez while incarcerated for four years for drug trafficking. After Amber was freed from prison, the former couple called it quits on their engagement.
Amber grew close to Michelle "Puppy" Deaton when she was incarcerated, and the two later appeared in the spinoff Life After Lockup.
The franchise posted a heartfelt tribute to Amber after learning of her untimely passing.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Amber Eggers, an original and unforgettable member of the Love After Lockup family,” on September 4, the series posted a shared statement on Instagram with WEtv. “She was a bright light, who shared her life story with courage and authenticity, and we are honored to have been a part of her journey over several years.”
The statement concluded, “Our hearts are with her family and friends who held her close.”
