This Valentine's Day, Amy Schumer is promoting self-love while feeling like a locomotive catastrophe. In fact, a month after divorcing husband Chris Fischer, the I Feel Pretty star gave fans a peek into her realistic Love Day plans.
“Give yourself all the love today,” on February 14, Amy posted a selfie to Instagram Stories. “Happy vday.”
The 44-year-old is seen appearing in front of a homemade "crying corner" sign in the photo. Amy, who smiled tightly and with wide eyes, added two water bottles and a box of tissues to finish the setup.
As per to court documents from New York County that media outlets examined, the Trainwreck actress, who has a 6-year-old son named Gene with Chris, filed for legal separation from her husband of seven years on January 6; this is one month after she made her revealing V-Day post.
Amy's attorney filed paperwork for an "uncontested joint divorce," which indicates that there are no issues between the parties over how to divide assets, money, or child custody during the separation.
The comic revealed that she and Chris, 45, "made the difficult decision" to divorce less than a month before.
"We love each other very much," in an update posted on Instagram on December 12, she claimed "and will continue to focus on raising our son."
Amy also dispelled any speculations that the two were at odds.
"Not because I dropped some lbs," regarding her current loss of weight, she joked, "and not because he’s a hot James Beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail."
Amy continued, "Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever."
Amy has talked about how she has been depending on her loved ones at this difficult moment in her life as she navigates her divorce.
"When things are at their absolute worst is when my family is the funniest," she revealed in an Instagram post on December 21. “Just when we hit rock bottom is when we can laugh the hardest.”
