Lizzo is providing the most recent explanation on why she is feeling so well. The singer of "About Damn Time" shared a meme of an unsettling face with the statement on her Instagram Story on April 2, revealing her two-month sobriety from booze. “When hg think getting me drunk will be fun but I genuinely give off this vibe when drunk.”
What about the atmosphere in question? "I feel terrible," the cartoon guy in the video declares.
Lizzo wrote, "2 months, no alcohol," next to the meme in her own post.
Lizzo has published a lot of information about her health struggle over the past few years, even though she has just abstained from alcohol since January. She described in 2025 how important exercise is to her at this stage of her life.
“I’ve never regretted a workout,” in July, the 37-year-old spoke to Women's Health. “After, I always feel better. I work out for mental health first. Exercise is the best mood enhancer."
Her connection with food has also evolved.
“There were times when I would eat so much that my stomach hurt,” Lizzo reminded an outlet. “When I was done, I would be so uncomfortable, I couldn’t breathe and wouldn’t let anyone know. I would hide it."
In her words, “I had so much food noise and connected so much emotion to food. If I were sad, anxious, stressed, or working a lot, I would snack and just eat constantly.”
However, she also developed a "very sustainable" lifestyle for herself in addition to her fitness routine.
“It’s a beautiful balance,” the Grammy winner stated, “where it’s like, if you allow yourself to have something, you can enjoy it without overindulging and hurting yourself. I’m so proud of myself for overcoming that.”
However, Lizzo is dedicated to accepting herself as she is at every stage of her health journey.
“It’s okay to gain weight after you’ve released weight,” she went on to say, “because what you’re not going to do is shame me if my body changes again.”
