Angélique Kidjo is gearing up to release the official music video for “Bando,” her collaboration with Pharrell Williams and Quavo.
The five-time GRAMMY-winning Beninese singer announced the news on Instagram on August 26, sharing a first look at the upcoming visual and revealing that the “Bando” music video will arrive on August 28.
In the preview, Kidjo appears in a denim outfit, sunglasses and a headwrap while surrounded by people in what appears to be a neighborhood setting. The footage offers a glimpse of the vibrant, community-focused visual accompanying the track.

“Bando” serves as the opening track on Kidjo’s 2026 album HOPE!!, which features Pharrell Williams and Quavo. Pharrell also produced the song as part of his creative collaboration with Kidjo.
The song’s title comes from the slang term “bando,” commonly used to describe an abandoned house. Kidjo has explained that the track represents the idea of rising beyond difficult circumstances and believing that possibilities are limitless, regardless of where someone begins in life.
“Bando” is one of two songs on HOPE!! created through Kidjo’s collaboration with Pharrell Williams. The pair also teamed up on “No Stopping Us,” another track from the album.
Released in April, HOPE!! is a 16-track project featuring major artists including Ayra Starr, Davido, Nile Rodgers, Charlie Wilson, IZA, PJ Morton, Fally Ipupa and The Cavemen. The album centers on themes of joy, resilience and hope and was dedicated to Kidjo’s late mother, Yvonne.
With the official visual now set for August 28, fans will soon get to see Kidjo, Pharrell Williams and Quavo’s collaboration brought to life on screen.
