Apple TV’s Nocturne Sets October 30 Premiere for Liev Schreiber and Stephen Graham Thriller.
Apple TV is preparing to introduce Nocturne, a crime thriller starring Liev Schreiber as a detective whose attempt to leave his troubled past behind is disrupted by a serial killer played by Stephen Graham. The 10-episode series premieres globally on October 30, 2026.
Schreiber plays Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier turned homicide detective who leaves Philadelphia for a small town in western Pennsylvania, hoping to find a quieter life. His plans unravel when Jurek Walter (Graham), a notorious serial killer, puts the town and Jonah’s family in danger.
The investigation becomes more urgent when one of Walter’s victims unexpectedly turns up alive. The discovery gives Jonah and his team a possible lead in their search for the person who remains missing, but finding answers means confronting a killer whose crimes continue to threaten lives even while he is imprisoned.

As investigators work to establish what happened to the missing victim, Jonah turns to his surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer, played by Zazie Beetz. Her assignment brings her into direct contact with Walter as she attempts to obtain information that could move the investigation forward.
The decision puts Saga in a difficult position. Getting answers from a convicted serial killer requires her to navigate an encounter in which the information he provides could be as consequential as what he chooses to withhold.
For Jonah, the stakes extend beyond solving the case. With Walter threatening his family and the surrounding community, the detective must weigh the risks of pursuing the truth against the danger of confronting a man capable of turning the investigation into something deeply personal.
Alongside Schreiber, Beetz and Graham, Nocturne features Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr.
The series is based on the crime novels Lazarus and The Sandman by Lars Kepler. Rowan Joffé created the television adaptation, while John Hlavin developed the series for television. Tim Van Patten directs the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer.
Nocturne will debut on Apple TV on October 30, with its first two episodes. New episodes will follow every Friday through December 25, 2026.
With a missing victim at the centre of the investigation and a dangerous killer holding information that could determine the outcome, Nocturne sets up a crime drama in which Jonah’s search for answers could put everything he has tried to protect at risk.
