The future of edtech in Nigeria will not be solved with just technology. Just as in healthcare and agtech, fixing cultural norms will be critical. When the police arrest young men in Lagos because they have a laptop, and the Yahoo Boys have made laptops to appear like a dangerous tool for illegality, getting some parents that it is cool for their kids to stay before computers, to learn, will require efforts. This explains my thesis that arresting people in Lagos because they are carrying Laptops is sending a really bad message to some parents and young people. Yes, unless it is blackboard and chalk, the child may be playing on that computer!
