Carmen Electra is prepared to put on another costume. The 54-year-old, who portrayed Lani McKenzie in season eight of the original Baywatch series, hinted at whether she will make any appearances on the beaches of Los Angeles while the revival is presently in development.
“You never know,” at the June 3 premiere of Scary Movie 6, she made a cameo, she informed reporters. “I mean, Scary Movie, possibly Baywatch.”
Carmen stated that the greatest benefit for the upcoming generation of lifeguards is to "always be ready."
“It’s a lot of hard work,” she added. “So, you just want to be in tip-top shape before you step out there, period. And work on your swimming techniques. Because it's hard. It’s not an easy job.”
The former cast member of Meet the Spartans really recalls working under the guidance of a real-life lifeguard who came in to oversee a few episodes of the show.
“He was like, ‘You've got to do everything,’” she remembered. “He was really tough on us. So, I'm hoping they're not as tough on them, but I have a feeling they are.”
Despite the demanding nature of her part, Carmen has many happy memories from Baywatch, and she also remembers her time working with the Wayans brothers—Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans—on the first and fourth Scary Movies.
Characterizing the position as “a huge moment for me,” Carmen went on, “It really showed people that I have a good sense of humor about myself. I think before that, people didn't know I was funny. They didn't know I had the chops to be able to pull off a role like that.”
Actually, she claimed that Keenen pushed for her to appear in the film's opening sequence, in which Carmen reenacts Drew Barrymore's moment from the original Scream, even though the film's studio didn't "want her."
“So, I love Kenan for that,” regarding the Wayans brothers, she added, “They care, so they'll take you beat by beat if you need it. They make sure everything works out. and they'll bring you back if they love you.”
It also helps that they are simply hilarious. “I don’t know what else to say,” she made a joke. “They’re hilarious.”
