It is happening - Nigeria is investigating Truecaller for possible violation of Nigeria’s privacy act, the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). Our legal contributors have examined this regulation and provided what to look as you operate in Nigeria. 

This is a big matter especially now these entities are having a physical presence in Lagos. While you master GDPR, make efforts to understand NDPR because the NDPR is the most important data regulation in Africa! I hope Nigerian lawyers are offering services on NDPR already.
