Ireland Baldwin is appreciating what her parents have given her. The model complimented Alec Baldwin on her appearance after her mother Kim Basinger gave him a special birthday shoutout and included a clip from their 1991 film The Marrying Man.

“That’s my parents!” Ireland, 30, commented on Kim's Instagram photo from April 3. “That’s why I’m so smokin HOT.”

Kim and Alec, who portrayed Vicki Anderson and Charley Pearl, respectively, in the movie, are seen acting out one of their numerous on-screen breakups in this clip. In celebration of the romantic comedy's 35th anniversary, Kim also talked about how the project had a profound emotional impact on her.

“Maybe Vicky and Charlie lived happily ever after,” she wrote a caption for the image. “But in real life there is a phrase called “OTHER PLANS………This coming Sunday will mark the 35th anniversary of THE MARRYING MAN…. A very special time in my life that I will be forever grateful for.”

“The years have passed and time has done its wonders,” she continued. “I will also say that today is Alec Baldwin’s birthday…A big happy birthday to Alec my costar…..Wishing him health… laughter…. and many more wonderful years with family and friends……always.”

Alec, who met Kim on the set of the film before they finalized their divorce in 2002, was deeply moved by the Batman actress' heartfelt remarks.

“This is remarkably kind and completely unexpected,” the 68-year-old commented in the comments area of the article. “Thank you, Vicky Vale, for my birthday wishes.”

Even though Alec and Kim—who also have children with wife Hilaria Baldwin, Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leo, 9, Romeo, 7, Eduardo, 5, Maria, 5, and Ilaria, 2—are getting along better now, the Blind Date actress previously talked about how hard their breakup was for their family.

"Divorce is hard on a kid, no matter how you cut it,” in 2016, she informed The Edit of Net-A-Porter. “And ours was very public and nasty.”

The 72-year-old clarified that the encounter caused her to raise Ireland "in a very unconventional way."

“I just wanted her to be free,” Kim revealed. “If she wanted to have her friends over and write over the walls with a pen, that was fine. I wanted her childhood to be full of love and light and animals and friends."

Kim recently disclosed that she and Alec are getting along well despite the challenges of their divorce, which included a protracted custody dispute over Ireland.

“Alec and I have a great relationship,” in February 2025, she revealed to Variety. “I have great respect for where he is today, and his family.”
