Grace Helbig is turning her attention to her well-being. The comic informed fans she had "two things" to update them on four days after canceling her Let Me Get This Off My Chest tour dates in Canada due to "numbness" in her legs. She laughed and joked, "And they're both brain tumors."
“I ended up coming to the emergency room, and they found two tumors in my brain because she missed me. My cancer missed me,” in an Instagram video posted on October 12, Helbig mentioned her fight with breast cancer in 2023. “So, I'm getting a brain surgery on Wednesday, which is obviously a normal thing to say.”
The 41-year-old, who gained notoriety on YouTube with over 2.6 million subscribers to her @itsGrace account, is feeling upbeat despite the upsetting news.
“These are operable brain tumors,” she clarified, “and there was a moment in time where it wasn't certain. Quite scary.”
Helbig acknowledged that the future is now uncertain, yet he managed to keep the situation lighthearted.
“I've asked the doctors. They said the positive attitude can't fix it, but it can help,” she revealed. “We'll be doing a brain surgery on Wednesday, and then we will go from there. We might do some radiation; we might do some other things. We don't quite know.”
As Helbig pointed out, “That's how this goes. You can only kind of plan one day at a time.”
The presenter of the This Might Get Weird podcast announced during the health update that she and her cohost Mamrie Hart will also be postponing the rest of their 2026 tour while Helbig concentrates on her recuperation.
“I just wanted to say that I'm hyped up on steroids four times the dosage that they gave me before chemo,” she added, “and that made me feel like I was gonna run through a wall.”
Helbig also expressed her gratitude for being surrounded by her loved ones, especially her husband Elliott Morgan, as she intends to keep her followers "in the loop" during her new condition.
“I love my family. I love my friends. I love the breast cancer girls that I've met since my last go around with breast cancer,” she came to a conclusion. “And I love my husband Elliott so much, it's stupid. That man has really been a saint. Okay, that's all I want to say. That's it. Goodbye for now.”
