Jamie Foxx Credits Daughter Corinne With Saving His Life Following Stroke.
Jamie Foxx is presenting flowers to Corinne, his daughter. The Ray star said how a discussion with his doctor three years after a brain hemorrhage that resulted in a near-fatal stroke made him realize how important the 32-year-old was to his recuperation.
“I wanted to know his version,” in a recent segment on the podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, Foxx revealed this to Keke Palmer. “He says, ‘Hey man, without her you wouldn’t be here.’”
“He says, ‘Man, your daughter saved your life,’” Foxx went on. “He said, ‘She’s the reason that you’re here.’”

Jamie (actual name Eric Marlon Bishop) said, "That's who she was," comparing Corinne's quick action in his hour of need to Michael Corleone in The Godfather, who intervened to save his father after discovering he had been shot.
When news sources started contacting her for further information on the Dreamgirls actor's health, she did, in fact, stand up and "handle it."
Jamie, the father of 17-year-old Anelise with ex Kristin Grannis and Corinne with ex Connie Kline, was admitted to the hospital in April 2023 and subsequently disclosed that he had suffered a fatal stroke.
In retrospect, the 58-year-old acknowledges that he "couldn't make sense of" the near-disaster, describing it as aggravating as he didn't know why he required a "second chance."
“What was wrong with my first chance?” he continued. “This doesn’t happen to anybody. How does it happen to me?”
However, since he "only had comedy to lean on," "joking all the time" gradually helped him to relax.
Jamie, who is expecting a child with partner Alyce Huckstepp, can now look forward to his next chapter with thankfulness.
“A few years back, I went through something horrible,” in an interview released on August 20, he informed news reporters. “My daughter made sure I got back. Now, seeing that I have a new life and to have my daughters embrace it, that’s all that matters, you know.”
