Jay-Z Accuser Recants Sexual Assault Allegations, Says There’s “No Truth” to Her Claims.
A woman who claimed that Jay-Z had sexually assaulted her is retracting her allegations. According to court documents obtained by news sources, the "Empire State of Mind" rapper (real name Shawn Carter) has officially withdrawn her accusations, claiming there was "no truth" to them, two years after she was accused of raping an unnamed woman, identified in court documents as Jane Doe, when she was just 13 years old.
"I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me," she penned. "I understand my false accusations have caused Mr. Carter immense pain, suffering, and damage that can never be fully undone."
Reps for Jay-Z and Jane Doe's attorney have been contacted by news organizations, but they have not responded.

Filed in December 2024, the lawsuit alleged that Jay-Z drugged and raped the woman at a party alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000. Jay-Z strongly denied the allegations, calling the woman’s complaint false and claiming in a statement to the media that it was driven by a pursuit of “money and fame.”
“This incident didn’t happen,” at that point in time, the rapper made a motion to expose the plaintiff's name but was turned down. “True Justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began.”
In a separate statement, Jay-Z's attorney Alex Spiro claimed that the allegation lacked sufficient investigation to support a claim.
“It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting,” in 2024, Spiro informed media journalists, “but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press.”
The woman voluntarily withdrew her lawsuit by February 2025, and the case was dismissed with prejudice, which prevented her from filing it again in the future.
“Counsel for the Plaintiff have discussed this matter with counsel for each Defendant,” at that moment, the dismissal document stated, “who acknowledge and consent to this submission.”
In March 2025, a month later, Jay-Z filed a countersuit against the woman. According to his attorneys, the initial complainant had “voluntarily admitted directly to representatives of Mr. Carter that the story brought before the world in court and on global television was just that: a false, malicious story.”
In the midst of the legal back and forth earlier this year, Jay-Z, who has three children with wife Beyoncé, claimed he was "heartbroken by everything that occurred."
“I was angry,” in a March interview, Jay-Z informed GQ. “I haven’t been that angry in a long time, uncontrollable anger. You don’t put that on someone—that’s a thing that you better be super sure. It used to be like that. You had to be super sure before you put those kind of things on a person. Especially a person like me.”
"The truth, at the end of the day, still reigns supreme," the rapper added, expressing thanks for the case's dismissal.
