Kandi Burruss discloses the latest updates on co-parenting with her divorced husband, Todd Tucker.
When it comes to coparenting with her former partner Todd Tucker, Kandi Burruss is being honest. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum spoke candidly about the former couple's coparenting aspirations since announcing their split in November after spending the holidays with their two children, Ace, 10, and Blaze, 6.
“We have determined that no matter what we’re always going to be great coparents for our kids,” on the January 16 program of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, Kandi, 49, stated. “So that means that, you know, we’re going to spend holidays together sometimes because we’re still a family, even though he and I have decided to go our separate ways.”
Kandi, who also has a 21-year-old daughter named Riley Burruss with her former partner Russell Spencer, continued, “And we’re trying to make it as easy as possible for our children.”

The songwriter of "No Scrubs" also mentioned how her most recent role in Broadway's Juliet has helped her forget about the tragic tale.
“It has been the best therapy for me because sometimes you have to have something to put your focus into to keep your mind out of a sad place,” she clarified. “And so, for me, it’s like singing, performing, learning to be better, make myself better, workout more, work on my vocals, do everything that I’m supposed to do to make sure I’m the best I can be on stage in front of everybody.”
She added, “While behind the scenes I might be breaking down, but I have to keep it together and it gives me motivation.”
Months after declaring that she and Todd, 52, would be divorcing after 11 years of marriage, Kandi made her remarks. She also stressed at the time that the couple's children will always come first.
"After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” Kandi revealed in a statement to People on November 21. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother, I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”
The hitmaker of "Bills, Bills, Bills" further stated that she was “stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth.”
“I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years,” Kandi observes, “and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family."
However, there were other celebrities that made the decision to split up in 2025 besides Todd and Kandi.
