"Melbourne Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating [an alleged] historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010," in the April statement, authorities claimed. "Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne's CBD."
The inquiry is still ongoing, according to the officials' statement, which could "be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."
Rose made the accusations against Perry after watching a video of the Grammy winner making fun of Justin Bieber's performance during his Coachella concert on April 11.
"Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne," in reaction to the video, the Orange is the New Black alum remarked on Threads on April 12. "Who gives a s--t what she thinks."
Rose, 40, claimed that she had made the decision to take Perry, 41, to court after originally having no interest in reporting the alleged occurrence or any other sexual offenses she had encountered over the years.
"I imagine they are past their statute of limitations, but all the more reason to try," she stated on Threads April 13. "I have a long list, it will probably take more out of me than I'm prepared for, but I will come back here to update others on the process, as soon as I am ready."
The Batwoman actress announced that she had completed her findings a day after Rose's claims were refuted by Perry's representatives.
"This means I am no longer able to comment, repost," she went on, "or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved."
Following Rose's public claim, Perry's representative refuted the accusations in a statement to media outlets. News had contacted Perry's representative for more comment.
"The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false," on April 13, a Perry official indicated in a statement, "they are dangerous reckless lies."
"Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals," the statement revealed, "claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named."
