Lauren Graham Opens Up About Emotional Gilmore Girls Documentary.
This is a gigantic coffee-worthy hint. The Gilmore Girls doc is still in development at HBO Max, but star Lauren Graham, who played Lorelai Gilmore in the Amy Sherman Palladino series, gave fans a preview of what to anticipate when they return to Stars Hollow.
“We're still in the middle of it, but I have filmed a little bit, and it was pretty emotional,” at Variety's Power of Women event on September 23, she informed media outlets. “And new information for me. Like, these are questions I had never asked Amy, conversations we had never had.”
Indeed, there was considerably more to discover than Graham could have imagined.

“My fear was, ‘Gosh, we've had all these years of being interviewed. Is there anything new to say?’” she acknowledged it. “And actually, being placed in that environment kind of makes for a different dynamic. So, I think there'll be a lot for fans to enjoy.”
She also teased that the lore discussed by the cast and crew of the beloved series in the documentary includes Mark Ballas’ connection to the show. During season four, the Dancing With the Stars pro’s dancer parents, Shirley Ballas and Corky Ballas, are mentioned, along with a son also named Corky. The references have led fans to speculate for years about whether Corky is actually Ballas.
Graham is taking advantage of every opportunity to spend time with her Stars Hollow family in real life, even though she will have to wait a little longer to reveal the official inside scoop on everything that transpired both in front of and behind the cameras on Gilmore Girls.
At the Power of Women event, where the Bridesmaids actress was recognized for her career, Graham was actually asked to present her former co-star Melissa McCarthy, who as chef Sookie in the series.
“I'm so excited to just hang out with her,” Graham mentioned getting back together with McCarthy. “I'm honored to be able to talk about how special a talent and how special a friend she is. And it makes sense to me that she's in this company of other powerful women.”
It also helps that she adores Ben Falcone, McCarthy's spouse.
In the words of the Parenthood star, “Melissa and Ben are the most fun to be with.”
