Maddox, the son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, is beginning a fresh phase in his life. As per People, the 24-year-old, whose real name is Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, has formally removed his father's last name off the credits of his latest movie, Couture.
According to the source, Maddox, who was the project's assistant director, also had his name altered in the production notes that Couture gave to reporters at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025.

Media outlets contacted Brad's representative, but they have not heard back.
Angelina, 50, plays an American film director who receives a breast cancer diagnosis before to her vacation to Paris in the new thriller, which debuted in French theaters on February 18.
Along with Maddox, she and Brad, who divorced in 2016 after two years of marriage, had twins, Knox and Vivienne, 17, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, and Shiloh, 19. Maddox is not the only child, though, to have abandoned Pitt as a last name.
When introducing herself at her Spelman College sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, in 2023, Zahara dropped her father's last name. Together with her mother, Vivienne worked on the Broadway musical The Outsiders, and a year later, her name was featured as Vivienne Jolie in the program.
In May 2024, Shiloh submitted the necessary paperwork to change her name to Shiloh Jolie in honor of her 18th birthday. In August of that year, the court formally granted her motion.
Since Brad and Angelina have also changed their names in the past, it turns out that the shift isn't entirely unusual for the family. After all, the Maleficent actress was born Angelina Jolie Voight before adopting her middle name as her surname in place of her father Jon Voight's last name. When pursuing acting as a career, Brad, whose legal name is William Bradley Pitt, also decided to use his middle name.
Additionally, Angelina has previously stated that their children are not interested in becoming stars like her and Brad, even though many of them have already followed in their parents' footsteps by changing their identities and working in the world of entertainment.
"None of them are dying to be on screen," as reported by People, Angelina spoke about her children at the 2025 Santa Barbara Film Festival. "They're not interested. They really don't like any of the celebrity part of it.”
