Maren Morris Details Co-Parenting Relationship With Ex Ryan Hurd her new album Dreamsicle, is set to release on May 9, 2025

Maren Morris has shared details about her co-parenting arrangement with her ex-husband, Ryan Hurd. Since they live just five minutes apart, their setup makes child drop-offs and shared parenting responsibilities much easier.

Maren mentioned that they still have family dinners together, keeping a sense of unity for their son, Hayes. She also joked about wanting to live like Frida Kahlo and her husband, who had separate houses connected by a bridge, saying that’s about as close as she’d want to be to someone in a future relationship.

It seems like they’ve found a way to make co-parenting work smoothly while maintaining their own independence.

As for how Maren feels about her current life as a single mom to a young kid. She noted it can be a bit of a roller coaster.

“Those weeks I have him, the house is full of chaos and energy and laughter and scraped knees,” she shared. “And then, when he is not there, you have to recalibrate your alone-ness because you’re like, ‘Wow, this is just me in here now.’”

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd seem to have found a great rhythm in co-parenting! Their bond remains strong, as shown in their September tennis selfie with their son, Hayes. They even playfully hinted at his future as a tennis star, captioning the post “Parents of a future Federer”.

It’s nice to see them keeping things lighthearted and supportive despite their split. Meanwhile, Morris is gearing up for the release of her fourth studio album, Dreamsicle, which drops on May 9, 2025.

Maren Morris' whose upcoming album, Dreamsicle, is shaping up to be a deeply personal and transformative project. With 14 tracks, it captures her journey through major life changes—her divorce, her public coming out as bisexual, and her departure from mainstream country music.

Songs like "I Hope I Never Fall in Love" and "This Is How a Woman Leaves" reflect the melancholy of love lost, while Cut! —her duet with Julia Michaels—adds a playful touch, poking fun at the pressure to keep it together in public.

“I think you have to be able to laugh at the sad tragedies of life — to know that everything ends and it’s out of your control,” Maren Morris in TZR says. “You can be upset about it and let it plague you forever and feel jaded. Or you can laugh and move on and take the lesson: better luck next time.”

Morris is doling out this wisdom from a large leather sofa in the middle of Lykke Haus, a vintage treasure trove in Nashville that’s doubling as the location for today’s photoshoot. The place is full of warm, retro glamour — the same aesthetic she tried to evoke with Dreamsicle’s album art and visuals. The ’70s in particular loomed large on her moodboard: The album has “everything from something very folksy, singer-songwriter, stripped-back, to something you can dance to,” she says. “That feels like the ’70s to me because it’s like Fleetwood Mac to Studio 54.”
