Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, 14th Emir of Kano, is back: “The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has signed the bill that repealed the State Emirate Council Law 2019 that gave the state five emirate councils.” With that, Sanusi will be on the throne, and the other five emirs will vacate the palaces. What can we learn from this case study on leadership?
This is my lesson: until board members can recommend and fight for you in your absence, getting to the top of your career may be challenging. And for that to happen, you must demonstrate capabilities which will make people do that. The Governor and the Kano people made the case for him.
