Nick Cannon Opens Up About His Relationship With Mariah Carey.
Let's start the drum roll: Nick Cannon is clarifying his connection with Mariah Carey. Cannon said his relationship with the Grammy winner is better than ever, almost ten years after the Drumline star and Carey—who have 15-year-old twins named Moroccan and Monroe—finalized their split.
“We talk almost every day or every other day, specifically just about the kids,” in a September 23 interview, Cannon informed Us Weekly. “We were laughing about [reports we’re not close]. I was like, ‘Who is telling people that?’”
Fans will have to wait until the Wild 'n Out star's upcoming Netflix docuseries premieres this winter to learn more about whether they will ever reignite their romance, even if the two share a positive coparenting dynamic.

“On the flip side, I’ve heard we’re getting back together,” he added. “I’ll deliver the truth with the doc. I’m always open [to that].”
Ultimately, the 45-year-old stressed that their breakup "wasn't messy" and that they "were able to move on and be the best parents we can."
He continues to laud the praises of the hitmaker of "All I Want for Christmas Is You" even after nearly ten years of coparenting.
“I always say Mariah Carey was my greatest friend and my greatest teacher,” he added. “What I learned most from her is how to hold on to what’s true and create your own spaces, without letting outside energy infiltrate.”
“And you know all that she’s been through in her life,” he went on to say. “I think that’s what keeps her going—her faith and her ability to block out negative energy. You feel like you know her, but she keeps all the things that are meaningful to her to herself.”
Although Cannon, who has ten children from five different women, now practices voluntary nonmognaomy in his romantic relationships, he made it apparent that this wasn't the case when he and Carey were married.
“I was married for seven-plus years, and my wife was the only person I was monogamous with because I didn’t want to f--k it up,” he acknowledged. “I was like, 'This is Mariah Carey. I’m not messing this up!’”
“But I have an abundance of love, and I want to be the best provider and partner,” he remarked. “I have the means to—not even speaking financially—be a helpmate to people and I think that’s the root of it.”
