Nigeria Makes The Muted Trump Ban
Six countries have been added to the U.S. travel ban list: Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Eritrea, Myanmar, and Kyrgyzstan. The focus is not as bad as we had thought - this is actually for banning overseas issuance of immigrant visas. Nigeria should just ignore this as this is purely a political move for U.S. election and nothing more. I am not sure there are many Nigerians that apply for immigrant visas yearly to cause pains for Nigerian government to waste efforts lobbying. This ban does not affect student visas, business trips, etc. This is an optical illusion - lots of action but nothing really there except for some American voters to think President Trump is ON IT. Trump is running his *hole country policy, Nigeria needs to run an opportunity policy to ensure we do not get added in a list that includes Sudan and Burma (Myanmar) - that is the real issue here.
