The gossips don't worry Olivia Wilde. The director of Don't Worry Darling recently addressed the long-running myth that she and Florence Pugh had a "screaming match" during the making of the 2022 film due to Wilde's purported absence from the set, following years of conjecture about drama on the set.

“I have never had a screaming match on my set,” in a June 24 interview, the former member of the House told The Cut. “I was never not available on set. I wanted to be like, ‘None of this is true.’”
She is now reflecting on that period of her life, despite having to wait over four years to address reports of feuds and internal conflict.
Additionally, Wilde—who was dating Harry Styles for two years after first meeting him on Don't Worry Darling—emphasized that the movie and everything associated with it "robbed me of my naïveté for sure."
Fortunately, when it comes to negotiating life in the spotlight, she has peers to turn to—she has disclosed advice from Pamela Anderson. She emphasized what Jennifer Garner, Butter's co-star, once shared with her.
“She said it’s like you get cast in a soap opera by the public,” Wilde recalls. “And they assign you an obvious archetype: the damsel in distress, the good girl, the pretty girl.”
What part has the director of Booksmart been playing lately? She uttered, “I became the full-on villain. Like Cruella.”
However, she has consistently rejected the character of the cruel girl, debunking reports of conflict on her set when they initially surfaced.
"As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, I mean, the internet feeds itself," in order to promote Don't Worry Darling, Wilde gave an explanation at a press gathering in September 2022. "I don't feel the need to contribute. I think it's sufficiently well-nourished."
Pugh, who told Vanity Fair in 2023 that she would not delve into the "nitty-gritty details" on set, has definitely moved on from the incident.
Following the completion of the movie, Wilde took some time to unwind and spend time with her children, Otis, 12, and Daisy, 9, who she shares with her ex-husband Jason Sudeikis. She was able to return to work stronger than before thanks to the respite.
“If you can push through the moment you have previously identified as the worst possible thing that could happen to you, whether that is divorce or the internet hating you or whatever,” she went on to The Cut, “you are forged into something way better than you could have possibly imagined.”
