Ray LaMontagne Falls Ill While Performing at Nashville Concert.
Following a health incident on stage, Ray LaMontagne is recovering. On September 5, the folk singer fainted during a performance at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, raising concerns.
LaMontagne was plucking the last few notes to his 2004 single "Jolene" when he gave a quiet grunt and fell to the ground, as seen in video that has gone viral on social media. His band hurried to his side as the audience gasped.
Montagne was "being treated for heat related dehydration," according to a statement later sent by the 53-year-old's team, Consequence of Sound reports.

"Ray is in good hands with the local EMS," reads the declaration posted on the Grammy winner's Instagram Story. "He is doing well now and is grateful for everyone’s understanding."
As reported by AccuWeather, Nashville's high temperature on the day of the performance was 101 degrees.
Andrea Curtis, a concertgoer, told the local newspaper the Tennessean that she witnessed LaMontagne "repeatedly strike or press his hand against his head, almost as though he were trying to regroup and collect himself." LaMontagne seemed to feel lightheaded during his performance prior to his collapse.
"There was no hostility coming from the crowd," she revealed. "Nevertheless, I felt I was watching someone become increasingly overwhelmed in real time."
LaMontagne left the stage "for what appeared to be a regroup" for a short while, according to Curtis, before starting "Jolene."
"The entire sequence of events looked less like one isolated moment at the end of the show," she went on, "and more like an artist who had been struggling and becoming increasingly overwhelmed throughout the performance."
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of his breakthrough album Trouble, LaMontagne is presently touring the US with The Weather Station. Which on September 8, he is expected to make a stop in Syracuse, New York.
