Several sources reports that Britney Spears has sold her music catalog to publisher Primary Wave
A part of Britney Spears has been disposed of. According to some sources, the singer of "Toxic" did, in fact, sell her song collection and several other rights to music publisher Primary Wave.
Britney signed away the ownership part of her music library in December, according to legal documents TMZ was able to get, even though the cost of her songs was not made public.
Artists including Stevie Nicks, Prince, Whitney Houston, and Biggie Smalls have all had their catalogs acquired by Primary Wave in recent years. Artists such as Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, and Justin Bieber have also sold their music to other companies, while Taylor Swift famously sold her master's from her previous label, Big Machine Records, in 2019 before acquiring them from Shamrock Capital in 2025.
