Simone Biles shared her experience with eyelid plastic surgery; a decision she made to address what she considered a “big flaw.”

In terms of openness, Simone Biles is winning the gold medal. Due to a long-standing insecurity that was exacerbated by the attention, the 28-year-old Olympian recently disclosed all of the cosmetic treatments she has had, including a lower blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery.

"I got a lower bleph because me and my family have, I call it the 'Biles eye bags,'" in an interview that went public on November 13, she informed People. "We've just always had them, hereditary, and so that was just a big flaw."

She went on, "Every time I would go to a shoot, they're like, 'Oh, can we put some strips on her?'"

She ultimately concluded that the surgery was worthwhile, describing it as a process that “removes and repositions excess fat” beneath the eyes, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

"I was like, 'Oh, baby, I had 12 hours last night, these aren't going away,'" she imagined. "So it's something that I wanted to fix."

Additionally, she values being open and honest about the changes she has made to her looks.

"Seeing me win medals at the Olympics, that's not relatable," she clarified. "But what is relatable is how we feel about ourselves, what we talk about, what we go through and how we share openly, honestly."

Because of this, the gymnast made her "three plastic surgeries" clear earlier this month. She explained what they were in the comments section of her TikTok video from October 29. She said that in addition to having a lower bleph, she also had a breast augmentation and had her ear lobe reshaped because her "earring got ripped out when I was younger."

The seven-time Olympic gold medallist believes it is critical that she is not hiding anything because she is aware of how many young women look up to her.

"I feel like nowadays with social media, you see everyone and you're like, 'Oh my God, how does she look so good?'" she made a point. "Social media is not real, so that's why I try to be as transparent as possible."
