The reason Sister Wives' Meri Brown claims that Robyn and Kody Brown are still owing her money.

There have been some controversies regarding the distribution of the Sister Wives cast's increased wealth. For what transpired in Vegas turned out to be a major factor in the dramatic drama surrounding the sale of the family's Coyote Pass property near Flagstaff, Arizona. It most definitely didn't remain there.

In the second segment of the TLC series' One-on-One special in January 18, Meri Brown's ex-husband Kody Brown told host Sukanya Krishnan, "She wanted all the money from it," when she sold the five-bedroom house where she lived outside of Sin City. "That's not how our divorce decree went. It was 50/50."

And not that she had kept the money for herself. Instead, the mother of 30-year-old Leon had deposited all of the money into Kody's bank account in order to assist him and Robyn Brown in buying the two-acre Arizona house they shared with their children, Dayton, Aurora, Breanna, Solomon, and Ariella.

"With my contribution, whatever words he wants to put to it," Meri clarified, citing their dispute over whether the funds were a gift or a loan, "they bought the house that was for them and then, you know, it doubled in value when they sold it. Yay, them."

Meri and Janelle, who also contributed to the first Arizona purchase, reminded Kody and Robyn that the initial loan wasn't exactly on the house after they used those profits to purchase a new Arizona manse for $2.1 million in 2024. Kody and Robyn are now monogamists since Kody ended his marriages to Meri, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown.

Yet that disagreement permeated the discussions surrounding the sale of the 14 acres they called Coyote Pass.

"When we went to parceling out the property, there was agreements that hadn't been settled," Kody described. "Janelle and Meri had gifted money to me and Robyn to purchase Robyn's house. Meri’s house, the proceeds from her house in Las Vegas, were half mine, OK? And so, they wanted their 25 percent of Coyote Pass, but I had put extra money in it. And they wanted to be paid back for their gift for Robyn's house, but I hadn't been compensated. And we couldn't negotiate."

Robyn mentioned that they were able to reach an agreement with Janelle. "She said 100 percent we were square with her, but Meri hadn’t."

And as they worked out the details, the mother of five continued, "We talked about a non-disclosure because it was like, let's not fight about finances publicly."

However, Meri put down her gloves quite early to hear her story.

"I mean, sure, it would make sense that I would get it," regarding the funds from her Las Vegas residence, she stated, "because, you know, I'm the only one who lived in it for the majority of the time that we owned it. And I'm the one who made all the payments. But you know what? Your name was on it. So, you can have half of it. Like literally, that's how I felt. I'm not going to fight that."

Signing any kind of confidentiality deal was what she was prepared to fight over.

"I was not OK with it," Meri acknowledged, "until we went back and forth a few times on the specific verbiage."

Even though things got complicated, the family did sell their Coyote Pass acreage in the end, with each member keeping their portion.

Additionally, Kody informed host Sukanya that Meri would soon receive another paycheck.

The 18-year-old father stated that even though they haven't yet negotiated the details, "I've just told Meri on the phone, 'Hey, listen, we're going to take care of this.' We always intended to take care of it."

Regarding Kody and Robyn's house, Meri had no intention of disclosing her donor status.

"This is something that I have consented to never talk about," on the January 18 special, she revealed, "but we'll talk about it now."

On the 20th season of the TLC series, she has revealed more than just that.
