Katy Perry enjoys her newfound freedom from smoking. The singer of "I Kissed a Girl" announced on Instagram Stories on March 6 that she has previously quit using nicotine in any form. She said, "Quit all nicotine 2 months ago."
Along with a picture of a bag of peppermint energy and concentration gum, Katy posted the comment, stating that she "highly" suggests the "more organic" energy substitute.
The 41-year-old Katy has been open about her cigarette habits in the past, but she did not elaborate on the nicotine products she had previously used. She did, however, alter her regimen in a few ways during her pregnancy with Daisy, the 5-year-old daughter of her and her ex-fiance Orlando Bloom.
“When you stop drinking and smoking and start creating a baby,” in 2020, she revealed on the Fifi, Fev & Bryon show, “it's like your whole body is like, ‘Well, thanks for treating me nice for one day.’”

She and Orlando actually prioritized sobriety throughout their relationship, even making a sober covenant prior to their breakup in 2025.
"For me, it was an opportunity to reset,” Katy gave People an explanation in 2023. “We reset after President's Day, and it was a great opportunity to just let my body bounce back a little bit.”
She went on to say, “I’ve had a pretty good relationship with just finding balance."
The singer of "Teenage Dream," who is presently dating Justin Trudeau, continued, "On the weekend I'll indulge a little bit," even if she clarified that she wasn't a huge drinker on weeknights.
At that point, it was much simpler for Katy and Orlando to decide on sobriety together, especially since he was attempting to maintain his best physical condition while filming in London.
"It's really hard to do anything, whether that's doing a cleanse or a reset, unless your partner's doing it,” she clarified. “So, doing it together makes it so much easier."
The Grammy nominee, however, didn't "identify with any labels" regarding her drug use, preferring instead "to have my reset moments" while juggling the demands of motherhood and the intensity of her job.
