Why Ellen DeGeneres, Eva Longoria, and other stars left Hollywood? In a recent interview, Cate Blanchett revealed she is "serious about giving up acting."

Hollywood has seen many stars step away from the spotlight for various reasons, and Cate Blanchett's recent remarks about potentially giving up acting highlight this trend. Ellen DeGeneres left Hollywood after her talk show ended in 2022 amid allegations of a toxic work environment. She and her wife, Portia de Rossi, moved to England, reportedly influenced by political and personal factors.

Eva Longoria relocated from Los Angeles to split her time between Mexico and Spain, citing changes in the city's vibe and challenges like homelessness and taxes.

Cate Blanchett herself has expressed a desire to explore other aspects of life, though she continues to work on upcoming projects.

These decisions reflect personal priorities and the evolving dynamics of fame. It's fascinating to see how stars redefine their paths beyond Hollywood.

"My family roll their eyes every time I say it, but I mean it. I am serious about giving up acting,” the two-time Oscar winner shared on RadioTimes in an interview published April 14, noting "there are a lot of things I want to do with my life."

After all, there are several aspects of being in the spotlight she could do without, including sitting down for interviews. "No one is more boring to me than myself and I find other people much more interesting," Cate continued. "I find myself profoundly dull."

Her legions of fans would surely disagree. But the Tár actress seemed to suggest that people don’t get to know the real her in this way. "When you go on a talk show, or even here now, and then you see soundbites of things you’ve said, pulled out and italicized, they sound really… loud," she added. "I’m not that person."

Cate Blanchett describes herself as "restless," a trait that seems to define her approach to life and work.

"I make more sense in motion it’s been a long time to remotely get comfortable with the idea of being photographed," the Blue Jasmine star shared to the outlet. "I’ve always felt like I’m on the periphery of things, so I’m always surprised when I belong anywhere. I go with curiosity into whatever environment that I’m in, not expecting to be accepted or welcomed. I’ve spent a lifetime getting comfortable with the feeling of being uncomfortable."

Even if Cate isn’t totally comfortable with all aspects of fame, it doesn’t look like she’ll be parting ways with acting anytime soon. Her spy drama Black Bag dropped last month, and she’s got projects like Alpha Gang and Father Mother Sister Brother on the horizon.

Cate Blanchett, known for her role in Carol, has expressed her thoughts about stepping back from acting, though she hasn't made any permanent decisions yet. If she were to take a break, she'd join the ranks of stars like Cameron Diaz and Daniel Day-Lewis, who have also paused their acting careers temporarily.

Meanwhile, other celebrities have opted for a change of scenery while continuing their work in the film industry. Eva Longoria, Richard Gere, and Josh Hartnett are among those who have moved away from Hollywood, seeking new environments that better align with their personal and professional lives.

It's intriguing to see how these stars navigate their careers and personal choices.
