Good People, for those planning to attend my keynote at the Nigeria Diaspora Economic Conference (NiDEC) 2026, I will speak on Day 1 (Aug 12) on the topic: “Unlocking Diaspora Wealth Through Nigeria’s Capital Markets: Building a Globally Competitive Investment Gateway.” The venue is ARCADIAN – Toronto, 401 Bay Street, 8th Floor, Toronto, Ontario M5H 2Y4. On Day 2, I will also participate in a plenary session at the same ARCADIAN venue.

If you can make it, I believe it will be a great conversation. I will make the case that one of Nigeria’s most important and liquid economic markets remains its diaspora community. But the next phase must go beyond remittances. Remittances have been catalytic, supporting families, education, healthcare, housing, and communities across the nation. Yet, this moment calls for something bigger: we must move from Money to Capital. Money pays bills and solves immediate needs; capital builds companies, finances infrastructure, expands industries, compounds wealth, and advances nations. Nigeria’s evolving capital market can provide the architecture through which diaspora wealth moves from consumption and remittances into productive investments.
That transition can create a virtuous circle. As Nigerians abroad invest through credible capital-market structures, they can participate in the wealth created by Nigeria’s growth while simultaneously financing businesses, projects, and economic opportunities across the country. In other words, the diaspora should not only send money home; Nigerians abroad should increasingly own assets at home. And as those assets grow, diaspora investors can become wealthier globally. That is the investment gateway I will discuss, a framework where capital flows to visions, visions become companies and projects, and prosperity expands. When Money becomes Capital, possibilities compound.
On Day 3, the conference moves to the Apollo Convention Centre, 6591 Innovator Drive, Mississauga, Ontario L5T 2V8, Canada, with another component taking place in Brampton on Day 4. I look forward to meeting members of the Nigerian diaspora, investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and professionals as we discuss a new architecture for connecting global Nigerian wealth with opportunities at home.
Yes, when we meet, I will explain how our upcoming stock exchange, Contisx Securities Exchange plc, will help us all exchange prosperity.
