When I started my career in banking, I used the first week to build a matrix of all the executives of all banks in Nigeria (as listed on their websites) – and mapped the commonalities among them. At the end, I realized one thing: most were chartered accountants. Quickly, I registered for the ICAN exam. Why not? I wanted to be on top also. I was in PE 1 when engineering asked me to stay in that lane!
