It is true what the Nigerians say, “old soldier never dies”. This was skillfully demonstrated by Nigerian football legend, Austin Jay Jay Okocha playing alongside Brazilian legends Ronaldinho and Cafu during the Ronaldinho’s legend football match at the Exploria Stadium, Florida on Friday.
Tagged the Beautiful Games, the all legend match was organised in honour of former stars who got to play with some handful of current and rising stars and a mix of other celebrities.
The martch between team Ronaldinho (R10) and team Roberto Carlos (RC3) was graced with former superstars including the two captains, Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos who led a host of other former stars such as JayJay Okocha, Cafu, Rivaldo, Juan Veron, Javier Mascherano and Patrick Kluivert and current stars such as Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, Paulo Dybala and Joao Felix with some reining celebrities picked from the music and media industries.

In the 10th munite, Jay Jay recalled his signature moves, popularly known as step over, to beat defender and then consummated it by placing the ball past Rene Higuita, former Colombian goalkeeper, to open the lead for the Ronaldinho’s team (R10).
“Okocha again reminded fans his mesmerizing skills… opened the scoring for Ronaldinho’s team after bamboozling the defence with some trademark footwork before poking a finish past Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita”. Adewale of the Punch reported.
Despite menacing performance of the the Riberto Carlos team, the Match ended in 4-3 in favour of the Ronaldinho’s team.
