Where To Buy the Dip in Q1, 2023 – Polygon and Big Eyes Coin

0

Most crypto enthusiasts are familiar with the infamous term ‘’buy the dip’’, but what does this mean? For those who have not been investing in crypto for a long time, buying the dip has long been done in all forms of investment and trading. The term describes investing when prices are low and selling when they are high.

This seems to be an obvious answer as it makes the most profit in any scenario. For example, in sales, you purchase items from a wholesaler and sell them at a slightly higher price to gain profit for being the middleman. Though there isn’t a middleman in crypto, it works similarly.

There is one significant difference however, as crypto is highly volatile, you have to research markets and cryptocurrencies that are ‘’dipping’’. This is to ensure the ‘’dip’’ is only temporary and doesn’t lead to a long-term decline, making you lose out on profit.

This piece will help you target a few cryptos that are in their ‘’dip’’ stage and explain why they are great investments for the first quarter of 2023. Some of those dipping are PancakeSwap (CAKE), Polygon (MATIC) and Big Eyes Coin (BIG).

Big Eyes Coin Is A Presale Coin Close To Launch Date; Get In On It While You Can!

Big Eyes Coin (BIG) is an up-and-coming meme coin that is currently in the ninth stage of its presale. Though its presale has only been live for a few months, it has already raised over $16 million. It brings a new take on the meme coin, opting to use a cat to represent the coin instead of a dog, thus, creating more buzz.

Big Eyes Coin (BIG) is set to launch by the end of January if it makes an extra $12 million and will launch immediately if that number hits $51 million. Big Eyes Coin (BIG) is offering a massive 200% bonus at the checkout to those who use the code LAUNCHBIGEYES200! Though it has not launched yet, it can still be seen as in somewhat of a ‘’dip’’ stage. As it is to launch soon, prices will dramatically increase and make it more expensive, so make sure you buy now and gain 200% extra tokens!

Polygon Is Dipping Constantly This January

Polygon (MATIC) is a popular cryptocurrency that operates using the Ethereum blockchain. MATIC, the native token of Polygon (MATIC), is an ERC-20 token. Polygon was launched to connect and grow Ethereum-compatible projects and blockchains. It has many benefits, including but not limited to fast transaction speeds and low transaction fees. Polygon (MATIC) also offers increased flexibility compared to Ethereum (ETH).

Crypto is generally experiencing a good year so far, Polygon (MATIC) included. However, Polygon has seen a few blips and small dips. This is the best time to invest in Polygon as it has repeatedly gained ground back after these small dips this January, making it the prime candidate for ‘’buying the dip’’.

Buying the dip is challenging to wrap your head around, but it is often the best strategy for making money in crypto. Big Eyes Coin (BIG) and Polygon (MATIC) are the top two investments for this strategy in Q1.

Lagos Restricts Filling Stations’ Operations to 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to Curb Traffic

0

The current fuel scarcity rocking Nigeria, which has refused to go away after several promises by the federal government to end it, has exacerbated traffic in Lagos, forcing the state government to take unprecedented steps to ameliorate the situation.

On Wednesday, commuters in Lagos were stuck in long traffic tied to long queues at filling stations along major roads, a situation which has become the norm since the fuel scarcity began last year.

To curtail the challenge, the Lagos State Government is moving to regulate activities of major independent petroleum marketers operating on major roads and traffic prone areas.

NAN reports the commissioner for transportation, Frederic Oladeinde, announcing the move in a statement on Thursday. Oladeinde said the move by the transport ministry to regulate activities of the marketers was necessary due to lingering fuel scarcity across the country.

He said the lingering fuel scarcity had continued to affect the free flow of traffic in Lagos.

The commissioner explained that the move became imperative to check indiscriminate queuing by motorists who oftentimes park carelessly on the roads and bridges to buy petroleum products, therefore, impeding free flow of traffic.

He said petroleum marketers whose filling stations are on major highways and areas susceptible to traffic would be restricted to opening hours between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily, pending when the fuel shortage crisis subsided.

Oladeinde said the government had charged the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Vehicle Inspection Service, Transport Operations Compliance Unit and other law enforcement agencies to ensure seamless flow of traffic across Lagos.

He advised all major and independent petroleum marketers to comply with the directive or be sanctioned.

However, the Lagos traffic situation, although it has been compounded by the recent increase in the number of vehicles waiting in line along major roads to buy fuel, needs more than regulating the activities of petrol marketers to stop.

With more than 40% of cars in Nigeria registered in Lagos, experts have said that the city needs rail transportation to reduce the number of vehicles on its roads. That is in addition to calls for more road networks that will provide alternate routes to motorists.

So far, steps taken by the government, including the dismantling of roundabouts and junctions on roads across the state and launching waterways transport, have failed to solve the perennial Lagos traffic challenge. This is partly due to overpopulation.

While acknowledging the need for a diversified transport system, Oladeinde said in 2021 that the population of Lagos is expected to rise to 35 million in the next ten years, generating 40 million trips daily, and, currently, 97% of transportation is on road.

“It’s important that we diversify the trips that we make. Of the trips that we make, 13.2 million that we make today are public transport trips of which Danfos (buses) cater for 80%, not a good story,” he said.

In December, Lagos took a bold step to diversify its transport system after its Blue Rail Line project was completed and tested by the state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The first phase of the project, which is capable of moving 250,000 passengers daily, spans 13 kilometers, extending from Mile 2 to Marina, covering five stations, is expected to be commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari this January.

While the Blue Rail Line is a milestone, experts said that Lagos needs similar projects that will offer alternate transport service to the people in major parts of the state to curtail its perennial traffic situation.

Interpellation of Presidential Candidates with Critical Questions on Nigeria’s Digital Space

While our analyst previously reported  how Chatham, a United Kingdom-based think tank, interpellated Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr Peter Obi to present their plans for Nigeria, in this piece, our analyst examines the hailing of the candidates and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on different digital platforms since the 2023 presidential election campaign began through different questions in 15 core areas.

Our analyst gathered data from global digital platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and online national newspapers, where Nigerians discussed the issues, challenges, and needs that the candidates must address before the election. According to the corpus-based digital quantitative analysis, Nigerians, particularly potential voters, want to know policies that will enhance socioeconomic and political development. According to our data, many Nigerians expect the candidates to discuss their previous governance records, stance on corruption, human rights, and foreign policy.

Our analysis shows that Nigerians want to know how the candidates will ensure good governance, safeguard the environment, enhance education, combat crime, and maintain security. Nigerians place a high priority on how poverty and gender inequality would be addressed. They also want to know how public funds would be managed, appropriate plans for creating large numbers of jobs, and comprehensive plans for addressing problems that are limiting economic growth.

Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu received an 8 out of a possible 10 in the areas of environment, human rights, and gender inequality, while Mr Peter Obi received an 8 in the areas of policies, governance records, corruption, performance during debates, job creation, poverty, good governance, public funds management, human rights, and gender inequality. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has also been heavily questioned in these areas. With a score of 6 out of a possible 10, our analyst observes that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not appear to be the focus of Nigerians on the various platforms from which our data was sourced in the area of policies. This also applies to economy and foreign policy areas (see exhibit 2).

All Edo Train Station Kidnapped Victims Rescued – Nigerian Railway Corporation

0

The remaining two kidnapped victims of the terrorist attack on train passengers at the Igueben train station on January 7 have been rescued.

Several others among the victims of kidnapping that followed the attack were earlier rescued. Six of the victims were rescued on January 6 while one was rescued a day later. On January 13, two more victims were rescued while 12 were said to have been rescued hours later.

The state’s Commissioner for Communications and Orientation, Chris Nehihkare, announced the development in a briefing after the state executive council meeting in Benin City on Wednesday. He added that seven suspects, including two traditional rulers, have been arrested in connection with the attack.

“The success story in the kidnapping is that five persons and two village chiefs have been arrested in connection with the incident and they are helping with investigations,” Nehikhare said.

The Commissioner had on January 8, confirmed the incident, which was said to have involved 32 train passengers and staff of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).

Confirming the development on Thursday, the NRC’s Deputy Director, Public Relations, Mahmood Yakub, in a statement, lauded security agencies for their role in the rescue operation. He however, did not say if ransom was paid.

“At this point, the NRC Board and Management highly appreciate the role, patience and cooperation of the families of the victims. We also wish to express our appreciation to the security agencies, State Government and all those who contributed in one way or the other towards the release of the harmless and innocent citizens for their efforts.

“This dastardly and wanton act of kidnapping innocent and law-abiding Nigerians is a display of cowardice that must be condemned and not to be tolerated in any guise as all hands must be on deck to ensure the Security of life and property of all Nigerians,” the statement read.

Edo State is among the states in Nigeria classified as hotbeds for insecurity, with kidnapping dominating the facets.

The backdrop has seen increased advocacy for improved security in the state. The House of Representatives on Wednesday, after offering a minute of silence for DSP Michael Adams, a police officer who lost his life during the rescue operation of Mrs Precious Aigbonog, who was abducted in Edo State, urged the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to deploy more Mobile Police personnel in Edo Central Senatorial District of Edo State. The House also urged the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General, Farouk Yahaya, and the IGP to set up a Nigeria Army barracks or a Forward Operating Base and a Police Mobile Force Base, respectively, within the district.

The issue came under consideration following the adoption of a motion moved by a member of the House from Edo State, Sergius Ogun. The motion titled ‘Need to Beef Up Security Formations in Edo Central Senatorial District of Edo State,’ was focused on insecurity in the state.

“The House is worried about the spate of kidnappings, armed robbery attacks and insecurity generally in the country, especially in Edo Central Senatorial District of Edo State, thus leading to the loss of lives and properties, and is causing palpable fear and apprehension among residents,” he said.

Following its deliberation, the House further mandated the Committees on Army and Police Affairs to ensure that its resolutions are complied with. The committees are expected to report back for further legislative action within four weeks.

Walking through a Lifetime Tech Journey in just 3 Metres

0

Some may not know this about me…

Web 3 Domains is not my first technology rodeo.

Nor was leading the defence of the first recertification audit for the first company in Africa to be TL9000 certified.

Nor was project managing the first ever industry CRM/ERP for UK Construction (Safebuild)

… and many other things that I’m going to just stop talking about for fear of being accused of blowing my own trumpet too much.. which would probably be fair!

No.. the first technology I mastered was when I was around eight years old, and it was what was called a PoW (Prisoner of War) Radio.

If you check online you will find lots of examples of what were called ‘Foxhole’ radios featuring a razor blade, but actually the very first such radios were made using coke.

Many of you may have heard of Silicon valley in the US, where there is a high concentration of semi-conductor related businesses and the phrase ‘silicon chip’

Carbon, Silicon and Germanium in the same Periodic Table grouping.

Carbon is in the same group in the ‘Periodic Table of Elements’ to Silicon and so has properties it shares with Silicon. This ‘family’ of elements, have a unique ‘half full, half empty’ outer orbit electron configuration which makes them equally able to form covalent chemical bonds (poor conductor) and ionic chemical bonds (good conductor) giving them ‘semi-conductor’ properties. This means electricity can be made to flow one way in the substance and not the other way. This is the basic principle of ‘amplification’ circuits.

Coal burning was common throughout the periods of the major world wars and coke is the carbon residue that is left over after coal burning. In even the most severe of PoW camps, coke was distributed on pathways to stop them from getting muddy, so it was easy for someone to pick up a piece off the ground without looking suspicious.

Brass cup washers like what were in the book illustrations

I found a book written in the 1950’s in my Grandads attic, describing how to make several electronic circuits. It started with a ‘coke’ radio.

Moving on, through my late childhood and teens, I made many circuits and small devices.

I was always scrounging parts here and there, and never had the ideal component for a job as the book illustrated. I had parts from abandoned TV’s, radios, and various other devices. Once I had a power transistor that I salvaged from a fluorescent light assembly. Illustrations all involved brass screws and cup washers, and as the projects began to become more complex, and screws easily loosened, I had to acquire a soldering iron, some solder, and some blank printed circuit boards.

The first soldering iron I had, I also found in my Grandad’s attic. It was like the one right of picture. I think the heating coil inside used to expand when hot and touch the metal casing, as I used to get electrical shocks off it sometimes.

So while the technology I learned of started with a PoW Radio, my skillset started with soldering.

This brings me to today, where a few days ago, I was at a local event in Ireland addressing enthusiasts about the prospects in Web 3 Domains. The location was a modular unit inside an educational institute.

Blank circuit boards

When I came out at the end of the event, I could get the whiff of melting rosin core solder from outside the adjacent unit. I got in a conversation with someone standing outside, who turned out to be an instructor for ‘enterprise training’.

Comparing early life notes, the instructor invited me to come in and give a short impromptu talk to a group who seemed to be learning electronic circuitry basics.

Having walked around and noticing what they were doing, I noticed a lot of ‘cold joints’, so I choose to focus on that as a topic.

A reel of Rosin Core solder

Cold Joint.

Lets take as example, a simple audio jack plug with two connection lugs at the back with holes. You need to solder a two core wire to the plug. The ‘solder target’ is a wire threaded through the hole on one of the lugs (terminals) at the back of the plug.

A cold joint happens when the ‘solder target’ is too cold for the molten solder which is being applied to it, intending to form a joint. The solder in this case just sits on the ‘solder target’ creating poor or intermittent contact. The solder often has a ‘globule’ like appearance, and after a bit of handling, it may fall off the joint entirely and the wire will become loose.

Cold joints are often formed as a result of melting solder off the iron, and allowing it to run onto the  ‘solder target’.

Notice the tip of the soldering iron is applied to the joint area, aka ‘solder target’. The transfer of heat is keeping the solder targets ambient temperature high enough to melt the solder and form the joint. The solder isn’t touching the iron directly.

The right way to make a joint is to use the tip of the iron to raise the ambient temperature of the ‘solder target’ so that the solder can melt, not off the iron, but off the target area itself.

This will create a good joint.

I had a lot of fun demonstrating how to make a good joint.

Encountering the dawn of my technological journey right next to my current point in the path around fifty years later, in two adjacent business units  was a surreal experience.
