The Importance of Environmental Education – An Outdoor Classroom with Dr. Yasam Ayavefe
As a steadfast environmentalist, Dr. Yasam Ayavefe, a pronounced businessman and philanthropist, supports many environmental projects. He believes in today’s youth receiving a good education of basics within the classroom; however, he considers inspiring students to learn about the environment helping them achieve a clearer understanding of the world they live in daily.
Dr. Yasm Avaefe’s passion for creating a structure for a better world was beyond impactful when he firmly stated: “There is a strong agreement in the societal structure that we owe it to future generations to leave a better world. Given that our children will inherit our earth, the most effective strategy for ensuring a cleaner, healthier planet is to equip today’s youngsters with the knowledge and leadership qualities necessary to handle future environmental concerns.”
It is of the utmost importance to Dr. Ayavefe that the youth of today fuller understand natural and constructed ecosystems where they live. Environmental education leads to increased attention and focuses on problematic ecological issues that affect the world globally. By developing a deeper understanding of the earth each young person lives on, Dr. Avavefe knows they will learn to protect their environment and gain the tools they so vitally need to create sustainable, healthy lifestyles.
Although Dr. Yasam Ayavefe’s own higher education is quite impressive, he has applied his years of education and gained knowledge to understand environmental education better.
He explains, “Numerous academics worldwide believe that education is the most effective instrument for improving the world, hence why we must recognize the importance of environmental education. Furthermore, we must raise public consciousness about the detrimental repercussions of environmental destruction.” His words were immediately spoken at the onset of the conversation, giving total clarity to his beliefs. In addition, he states, “Real environmental consciousness is produced via a strong understanding of education,” adding he will put into place a new approach to education from preschool to college levels.
Further adding: “I think that in recent times, several educational institutions have taken the lead in teaching students about how human activities affect the natural environment in both practical and theoretical ways. But, to my mind, there is still a great deal of room for incorporating environmental education into the regular school curriculum. For instance, each school should teach future generations how to develop sustainable behaviors such as recycling and encourage a healthier lifestyle.”
His answer to wondering if he believes that environmental education is taught adequately in today’s school system was refreshing. Learning from Dr. Ayavete’s belief that several educational systems are now teaching how the human footprint affects the environment seemed to be a positive addition to only teaching the basics needed. However, his focus on implementing more educational necessities focused on sustainable behavior was also impactful, given the environment is one of today’s most critical issues.
Not only has Dr. Avavefe made it one of his missions to see environmental education taught, but he hopes to see other values taught as well. “We must also learn to be empathetic and helpful to one another; we must learn to appreciate and nurture nature and learn to progress and become better beings.”
His words were noted as living with a mindset of present-day issues. Instilling morals and values such as this will also assist the global environment physically and emotionally. All of his thoughts and values, and missions were nothing short of fascinating and factual.

Environmental schooling strives to extend consideration on environmental points that affect us all, together with the measures we will implement to enhance and preserve the sustainability of the setting.” The assistance of environmental training after Dr. Dr. Ayaefe’s words, seemed to be an education all of us should pursue. Although we should all do our research, we should also take advantage of the outdoor classroom our planet offers.
