Buhari appoints Major General Farouk Yahaya as the New Chief of Army Staff

0

President Buhari appoints Major General Farouk Yahaya as the New Chief of Army Staff. While I wish him good luck, I challenge him to avoid collateral damage happening in Ebonyi and Imo states where stray bullets are killing people daily. Nigeria has found it necessary to deploy Air Force crafts with Police going with grenades into these communities, killing children and women, despite its total failure of using the same asymmetric assaults to fight Boko Haram.

General Yahaya, good luck but stop the killing of innocent citizens in the South east. If you militarize the communities, bad things could happen.

PRESIDENT BUHARI APPOINTS NEW CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF

The Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari has appointed Major General Farouk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff.

Prior to his appointment Major General Yahaya was the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and the incumbent Theatre Commander of the Counter terrorism Counter Insurgency military outfit in the North East code named Operation HADIN KAI.

Please disseminate this information to the general public through your news medium.
Thank you for your cooperation.

God bless Nigeria. God help the Army.

Please where the General comes should not be an issue.  Mr. The President has 100% right to choose his team.  I am simply asking for one thing: treat all Nigerians the same. My kinsman and village big Mgboo held his job as Gen Ihejirika. Where COAS  comes from is not the issue. It is what he does! Let us focus on that. They need to use wisdom and be cautious on the operations in the South east. Fight bad people but do not declare war on innocent people.

Tekedia Welcomes An IP Expert To Teach “Intellectual Property: Strategy, Management & Commercialization”

1

Good People, join me to welcome Barrister Ifeanyi E. Okonkwo to Tekedia Institute as Faculty. The learned gentleman is an intellectual property expert and is developing a new course on ‘Intellectual Property: Strategy, Management & Commercialisation’ for the Institute.  This course will examine among others how we can translate IPs into innovation and drive growth in businesses. The focus is on the business side, not the legality, since the Institute has courses in the legal domain already.

Mr Okonkwo comes with wide experience in commercial intellectual property and has been involved in several complex international and local portfolios.

He is an asset at West Africa’s leading IP firm – Jackson, Etti & Edu (Managing IP) – and a member of the NBA-SBL IP Committee. His work on intellectual property valuation continues to be a foremost material on the subject amongst African scholars.

In a knowledge-based economy and the rise of intangible assets, Ifeanyi E Okonkwo will be taking on Tekedia Students on the intangible business aspects and strategies.

From Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) to the usual IP assets, Tekedia Institute is educating. Register for the next edition which begins June 7 here.

Good People, welcome with me 25 businessmen who are joining Tekedia Mini-MBA edition 5 from Onitsha Main Market. Through a partnership with the traditional ruler of the Awka Kingdom, we developed a wealth and personal wealth management course to make it possible for traders to plan for retirement.

We need to end that bad omen where men and women who touched money only to be in financial ruins, months after retirement. I thank our amazing Faculty Japheth Jev, ACMA, CGMA, ACA, for developing the best course on personal finance and wealth management! It is so popular that it is now a book.

I want to wish these men open markets and more importantly “aku ruo ulo” [may the wealth reach home] and be durable.

Welcome to the Institute school.tekedia.com. I hope to return to Africa’s largest market very soon to share ideas to advance the wealth of Nigeria.

They Trademarked “Yoruba”

0

According to Premium Times, “Timbuktu Global, a British clothing brand retailer, has come under fire for trademarking the word Yoruba – a name of an ethnic group in West Africa – for their business, igniting a debate on cultural appropriation”. Now the company is apologizing.

Her posts went viral with the hashtag #YorubaIsNotForSale and generated a heated debate and backlash from Nigerians who felt that it was an insult to the Yoruba culture.

An unbalanced world – they trademarked “Yoruba” and the Yoruba nation found out. Now, they are apologizing because even with the blessing of the Queen’s law, they just realized that they cannot handle “Yoruba”. What is wrong with this world? How could the UK’s Intellectual Property Office allow such to have gone through? Do we blame AI?
