Share Those Photos in Africa Knows

0

Africa Knows is a platform for photographers to share or sell their photos and for users to view or buy African stock photos.

Our Purpose: To tell a different story about Africa. The Re-branding of Africa.

The story everyone knows and yet no one knows. Africa Knows is about the challenges, triumphs, dreams and nightmares of being an African in a 21st century city that is straddling several revolutions at the same time – the technological revolution, the agricultural revolution, a democratic resurgence and a post-colonial identity crisis complicated by old ethnic tensions.

Africa Knows about its own land and its own people more than any international media agency can ever know. Africa tells its own story to those who want to listen with their hearts and their heads. This is the beginning of a new identity, for Nairobi and for Africa as a whole.

Using the tools of digital media and social networks, Africa Knows will bring together the best of photojournalism drawn from Kenya and the most active and creative new writing to tell a different story of itself.

This project will grown through naturally evolving networks to capture thoughts from across Africa…because Africa Knows that it is the cradle of all mankind.

At AfricaKnows.com, you can find a large variety of Royalty-Free stock images. Thanks to the continual evolution and diversification of digital technologies, they are able to provide images of a very high quality at a convenient price. All the images are carefully scrutinized and selected, in order to make sure that only the best are included and that the range of subjects is extensive.

Recently, I traveled to Kenya as part of an African Union-funded research. I had wanted to know why some… More »

What is a Tablet? OK, Tablet PC if The OS is Windows Mobile.

0

Unless it is powered by Windows, it cannot be called Tablet PC. For Android tablet, it is simply Tablet. So it is technically wrong to write “Android tablet PC” though it is fine to write “Windows tablet PC”.

Ok. Leave that semantics out. What is a tablet PC?

Tablet PCs are specialty mobile machines which can be operated by a stylus or touchscreen apparatus. There are basically two kinds of tablet PCs-slate and convertible tablets. Users operate slate computers with a pen or stylus. Convertible tablets offer both touch screen and keyboard capabilities.

Tablet PC upgrades brought improved touchscreen recognition and handwriting interpretation capabilities. New models enable users to write directly onto their desktops. They simplify lives and bring freedom and play to the next level.

Ovim tablet is a tablet. It is powered by Android. It is a highly advanced machine with knowledge interface that makes work easy. It is also a platform for play. You can do anything any modern tablet can do with Ovim. If you have not used a tablet, it may be time to try one. Tablets are better than laptops.

Mobiflock Monitors and Manages Children’s Phone Usage To Protect Them From Harm

0

Mobiflock gives parents the ability to monitor and manage their children’s phone use and therefore protect them from harm. Mobiflock makes cell phones safe for children by giving parents the visibility and tools to manage their children’s phone use, and so protect them from harm.

Mobiflock is easy to install and use. A small programme – or application – is downloaded on to your child’s phone. Then you use an online dashboard to set up security levels and alerts, and to get a bird’s eye view of how your child is using their phone. Including the time and money spent.

The Mobiflock service allows you to:

  • Find out who your kids are contacting and who is contacting them. And what they are saying to each other.
  • Control who your child contacts, who contacts them, time and money spent, information sent and received.
  • Locate where a missing or stolen phone, or even where your child is. And delete private info from a missing or stolen phone.
  • Receive alerts about inappropriate content; cyber-bullying; sexting; predatory activity; spending too much time or money online.
