Americans are heading to the polls tomorrow in an election that could reshape control of Congress and influence Bitcoin’s price trajectory through the end of 2026.
As investors assess the potential consequences of a Republican or Democratic victory, cryptocurrency market expectations increasingly reflect political uncertainty, particularly surrounding digital asset regulation and the future of the proposed CLARITY Act.
A Bloomberg survey of 301 investors highlights the divide in expectations. Approximately 29% of respondents believe Bitcoin could finish 2026 above $100,000 if Republicans maintain control of Congress.

However, that proportion falls sharply to just 8% under Democratic control. The findings suggest that investors view Republican leadership as a potentially more favorable environment for cryptocurrency markets, although political outcomes alone cannot guarantee higher prices.
Under a Democratic-controlled Congress, pessimism becomes more pronounced. Around 71% of surveyed investors expect Bitcoin to end the year lower, while 16% anticipate the cryptocurrency falling below $60,000.
These projections demonstrate how deeply regulatory expectations have become embedded in digital asset valuations. Survey responses represent investor sentiment rather than definitive forecasts of future market performance.
At the center of this political debate is the CLARITY Act, legislation intended to establish a clearer regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States.
The bill has attracted considerable attention because cryptocurrency businesses and investors have long sought greater certainty regarding regulatory responsibilities, market oversight and the treatment of different digital assets.
The legislation’s difficulties have already demonstrated the market’s sensitivity to political developments. In September, the CLARITY Act fell short of the 60 Senate votes required to advance, triggering a decline of more than 5% in Bitcoin’s price that day.
The reaction illustrated how legislative setbacks can quickly undermine confidence, particularly when investors have anticipated regulatory progress. A Republican-controlled Congress could improve the bill’s prospects.
Potentially strengthening expectations that the United States will adopt clearer rules for cryptocurrency exchanges, token issuers and other digital asset businesses. Greater regulatory certainty could encourage institutional participation, support innovation and improve the country’s competitiveness in the global digital asset industry.
Conversely, Democratic control could complicate negotiations or delay legislative progress, depending on lawmakers’ priorities and willingness to compromise.
However, congressional control should not be treated as the sole determinant of Bitcoin’s performance. Monetary policy, institutional investment flows, global economic conditions, liquidity and investor risk appetite will continue influencing cryptocurrency valuations.
Even under the more optimistic political scenario, expectations remain restrained. Approximately 70% of surveyed investors doubt Bitcoin will surpass $100,000, highlighting persistent uncertainty despite hopes for a favorable regulatory environment.
This cautious outlook suggests that investors recognize the difference between improving legislation prospects and generating sustained buying pressure. Timing also matters.
If the CLARITY Act remains unresolved when the new Congress convenes in January, lawmakers may have to restart the legislative process, potentially extending uncertainty for cryptocurrency businesses and investors. Such delays could weaken near-term optimism, regardless of which party gains control.
Tomorrow’s election could influence the political conditions surrounding Bitcoin, but it will not independently determine the cryptocurrency’s year-end price. Investors will be watching congressional results alongside legislative negotiations, Federal Reserve decisions and market liquidity.
Whether Bitcoin approaches $100,000 or retreats toward lower levels will depend on how these forces interact in the weeks ahead.
